PONTIAC - William J. Becker, 74, of Pontiac died at 12:50 a.m. yesterday (Feb. 6, 1991) at Saint James Hospital, Pontiac. He had been ill two years.

His funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Trinity Lutheran Church, Pontiac, the Rev. Eric T. Lange officiating. Burial will be in South Side Cemetery, Pontiac.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Duffy Funeral Home, Pontiac.

He was born Dec. 20, 1916, in Iuka, the son of William and Vicke Peters Becker. He married Myrtle Timm on Jan. 14, 1942, in St. Louis. She survives.

Also surviving are two daughters, Carolyn Scott, Wenona, and Marilyn Zenisek, Pontiac; four sisters, Leona R. Ravey, Mount Vernon; Margaret Quandt, Salem; Bernice Brotcher, 818 Eighth St., Hilltop Mobile Homes, Bloomington; and Dorothy Jennings, Flanagan; and four grandchildren.

Three sisters and two brothers preceded him in death.

He attended Holiday Grade School, Iuka , and worked at the Pontiac Glove Factory, the Pontiac Chair Factory several years, and last as a driver at Pontiac News and Magazine Agency.

He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, to which memorials may be made.
