Carolye, 67, of Battle Creek, died Saturday at her home surrounded by her family. She was the daughter of Clifford and Alice (Lahaie) Tallman
Carolye graduated from Cheboygan High School in 1961, Northwestern School of Commerce in Bay City. She worked for Pepsi Cola Company in Battle Creek and a short time when it moved to Kalamazoo. She spent some years raising her two sons who were active in Cub Scouts and basketball at Riverside Elementary School.
Carolye was then employed for Bill Knapp's as a payroll and workman's compensation office employee, retiring after 20 years with the company.
Carolye was active with her husband as secretary of the local chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation including many trips to conventions in other states. She enjoyed time with her granddaughter and spending time at St. Joseph Catholic School.
Carolye is survived by her husband, Richard Lafrinere; sons, Dennis Lafrinere, Steven Lafrinere, both of Battle Creek; grandchildren, Cassie Lafrinere and Austin Thrope; her mother, Alice Tallman of Cheboygan; brother, Richard (Jan) Tallman of Cheboygan; sister, Mary (Kenneth) Achard of Grand Rapids and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Clifford Tallman; brother, Keith Tallman and sister-in-law, Bonnie Tallman.
Mass of Christian burial took place Tuesday April 19, 2011 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. David Grondz officiating.
