Agnes "Aggie" Rosa Krappes was the third born child (1st daughter) of five children born to Louis and Anna Krappes who immigrated from Austria on Feb. 3, 1909. Aggie's mother died when she was 10 years old and Aggie assumed her mother's role of cooking, cleaning, washing and taking care of the children as well as attending school.
One Sunday in April 1939, she and a girlfriend were up on Lookout Mtn in Golden, CO, where they came upon a couple of "cute guys", both couples began to double date, one thing lead to another and after a whirlwind courtship (three months) Aggie and Jamie were married on August 12, 1939. Together they had 3 children, 8 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren. They were married for 61 one years - Jamie died in Aggie's arms, 9 days before their 62nd wedding anniversary on Aggie's birthday.
Aggie worked her whole life as she enjoyed the interaction with people and after being "forced" to retire (age 69) from Petroleum Information where she had worked 35+ years, she was home about 1 month, quickly became bored so she found a "part-time" 40 hour a week job where she worked until she was 82 (was never late or missed a day of work). Aggie had a way of making each person she came in contact with feel special, was very dedicated to her family, would read her bible and pray everyday. There was never a more kinder, funloving, outgoing, generous, wonderful woman as Aggie - her heart was bigger than she was and is missed by everyone - God and the angels are lucky to have her.
