Lewis E. (Ellsworth) Wigton was born Feb. 26, 1862 to Elihu R.& Emiline M. (Johnson) Wigton. He married Minnie M. Smith Nov. 11,1892 in Will County, Illinois. Lewis was a post master in Esmond, SD early 1900's. Then appointed Post Master in Alamo, Tx., 30 Oct. 1919. They had a son, Spencer E. Wigton, 1898-1913, reportedly died from lightning strike. He had been plowing a field when a storm came up, he took shelter under a tree and was struck by lightning. It is not known why he was in Edgemont. Lewis & Minnie were living in Esmond, SD at the time. Their son is buried at Edgemont Cemetery, Edgemont, Fall River County, South Dakota, USA, Plot: Section F Block 4 Lot. FG # 18829430
