Andrew was the son of Ira and Mary Cookman Palmer. In 1914 he moved with his parents to Central City, Iowa. In 1917 he joined the Army and served in WW 1. On June 15, 1927, he married Adaline Pike. She was born Aug 9, 1896, daughter of Norman and Isable McCrellis Pike at Paris, Iowa. Palmer was a farmer and spent time building fence all over northern Linn County. They had 2 sons: Milton (born Nov 30, 1929) and Boyd (born Feb 24, 1938). Both Andrew and Adaline died in 1978 and are buried at Mt Clark Cemetery.
