Esther Lydia Pueggle, the daughter of Gustav and Louise (Dorrow) Pueggel, was born May 4, 1911 on a farm north of Clear Lake. She was baptized and confirmed at St. John's Lutheran Church northeast of Garner. She graduated from Ventura High School in 1929. She attended Waldorf College in Forest City and Iowa State Teachers College in Cedar Falls and began teaching in the rural schools of northern Iowa. Esther then moved to St. Louis, Mo. where she attended Concordia College and later taught in the parochial schools in St. Louis, Milwaukee, WI and Chaska, MN. Ester loved books and spening time in school libraries so she went to work at the Concordia College Library in St. Paul., MN, She was also a secretary at Mt. Olive Lutheran Church in St. Paul. In 1992, she moved to Prairie View apartments in Garner. She enjoyed traveling, sewing and remembering her nieces and nephew with cards. She was as member of St. Paul Lutheran Church.

She is survived by her two sisters, Dorothy Hollatz and Anna Radloff both of Garner; a brother Arnold Pueggel and his wife, Marlys, of Clear Lake; a brother-in-law, LeRoy Hollatz of Garner and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Agnes Hollatz; and two brother-in-law, Conrad Hollatz and Raymond Radloff.
