Troy Eugene Carter, 74, of Warrenton, Mo. and formerly of Arbyrd, Mo., died Wednesday, Oct. 10, 2001, at St. Louis University Hospital.
Born Jan. 19, 1927, in Sycamore, Mo., son of the late Milo and Mellie Warren Carter, he was an avid hunter and angler. He served in the U.S. Army in the Philippine Islands during World War II.
On June 5, 1948 in Piggott, Ark., he married Virginia Haddock, who survives of the family home.
Also surviving are two sons, Gary Carter and his wife, Marilyn, of Warrenton and Ronnie Carter of Beech Grove, Ark.; one daughter, Debi Ringling and her husband, Butch, of Warrenton; one brother, Buddy Carter of West Plains, Mo.; two sisters, Marie Sanders and Edna Newton, both of West Plains; 13 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his mother- and father- in-law, Noma and C.R. Haddock, a daughter-in-law, Donna Carter, five brothers and three sisters.
Funeral services were at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 13, in the Hollywood Church of Christ in Hollywood, Mo.
Burial was in the Lulu Cemetery near Senath.
Pallbearers were Denny Haddock, Harold Fitzjerrell, Tony Carter, Scott Gilliam, Jeff Carter and Wendell Glass. Floyd Helton, Jr.
