Mrs. Rogers
Allie Fair Stiwinter Rogers, 78, of the Yellow Mountain Community, died F riday August 20 in a Highlands-Cashiers hospital after a period of decl ining health.
A native of Jackson County, she was the daughter of the late James Melv in and Orpha Buchanan Stiwinter. Her husband, William Henry Rogers, die d in 1977.
Surviving are two stepdaughters: Laura Stewart and Ethel Fink of Gaston ia; a sister, Violet Henderson, of Cullowhee; and a brother, Will Stiwi nter, of Franklin.
Services were held Sunday in Yellow Mountain Baptist Church, of which s he was a member. The Revs. Billy Rogers, Carson Gillmon and Edd Bryson o fficiated.
Burial was in the Steward Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Arnold Buchanan, Alvin, Odell, and L C Stiwinter; Davi d Hooper; and Quence Hedden.
Bryant Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
