Upson Correspondence
Lamar’s Mill., July 1st, 1882.
Editors Herald: - Your correspondent learned yesterday that Mr. Samuel Dickey, of Crawford county, but formerly of Upson, died Thursday morning from an attack of malarial fever. Mr. Dickey was a son of Elder John Dickey, of Upson and has always resided in this county until the present year when he moved to Mr. Mark Walker’s place in Crawford county, He was held in the highest esteem as an upright and honorable gentleman and passing away in the prime of life remind us that the Divine Law must be fulfilled. He left a kind-hearted wife and one small child to mourn his loss. The bereaved family have our sincere condolence. FLINT
(Samuel L. Dickey born October 10, 1850 son of Elder John & Jane Dickey. Married Mary Ann Mullens December 15, 1880 in Upson Co., Ga. Died June 27, 1882 buried in Ebenezer Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery, Upson Co., Ga.)
