Warren Gardner Briery, of Muskogee, passed away Wednesday, April 13, 2011 at the age of 90 years and four months. He was born December 14, 1920 in Converse, Louisiana, the son of Warren Gardner Briery and Martha Jane (Wofford) Briery. Warren was raised and educated in Muskogee where he graduated from Central High School in 1939. On June 24, 1942, he entered the U.S. Air Corps and served during World War II in the Pacific Theater. He was honorably discharged on January 3, 1946. Warren and Selma Caroline Retzlaff married on May 10, 1947. They moved to Ft. Worth, Texas and Warren began a career which spanned 35 years at Lockheed Corp. Warren was preceded in death by his parents. His wife, Selma, preceded him in death on April 12, 2002. He is survived by several cousins. Viewing will be from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Sunday and Monday from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. There will be a memorial prayer service at 6:00 p.m. Monday in Fosters' Ivory Chapel with Mr. Joe Wofford officiating. Committal services will be at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Ft. Worth, Texas. Funeral service arrangements are under the direction of Foster-Petering Funeral Home.
