Albert G. Board, a native Kentuckian, was born in Breckinridge county, April 14, 1854. His father, Milton Board, was also born in Kentucky, in 1824, is a very prominent man, and during his lifetime has filled the office of sheriff, county clerk, and county judge of Breckinridge county. His wife, nee Margaret Pool, was born in Kentucky, about 1834, and died when Albert was eight years old. Albert G. was reared and educated in Kentucky. In his early days he followed farming, clerking and taught school. He came to Texas in 1875, and located in Bryan, Brazos county. In 1877 he was married to Miss Mary E., daughter of W.C. and Sarah A. Dodson. Mary was born in Livingston, Sumter county. Alabama, in 1860, and came with her parents to Texas in 1866. Her mother died in Bryan, Texas, in 1867. Her father is now living in Waco, Texas and is a prominent architect of that place. Five children have been born to this union – Mabel, Ada, Charles, Lucy and Guy, all of whom are still living. In 1887, he was elected alderman of Bryan, to which office he was twice elected. In 1888, he was elected district clerk, in which capacity he now officiates.
Served as Brazos County Attorney 1895-1898. Also served as Brazos County Judge.
