Alberta Henely, 83, died April 9, 2011, at the Alliance Center for Health Care in DeLand. Chaplain Jim Patterson will officiate at a funeral service scheduled for 10 a.m. today, Thursday, April 14, in the Allen-Summerhill Memorial Chapel, 126 E. New York Ave. in DeLand. Interment will follow at DeLand Memorial Gardens, 600 E. Beresford Ave.
Mrs. Henely was born in Soperton, Ga., on Feb. 6, 1928, and moved to DeLand as a young girl.
She retired from Sherwood Medical Industries in DeLand, and attended St. Peter Catholic Church in DeLand.
Survivors include her daughter, Mary McDaniel and her husband, Robert, and one grandson, Harrison McDaniel, all of DeLand; two brothers, Joseph Foskey of DeLand and A. E. Foskey of Soperton; one sister, Alice Board of DeLand; and many nieces and nephews.
