Mary Carter Pratt Riding, age 84, died August 5, 1991 at MacKay-Dee Hospital in Ogden, Utah of causes incident to age.

She was born February 3, 1907 in Eureka, Utah, a daughter of Edward F. and Annie Blake Carter. She married Karl LeRoy Pratt, August 2, 1925 in Provo, Utah. On May 25, 1933, their marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He preceded her in death March 4, 1975. Later she married Millard Riding, in the Provo LDS Temple; he preceded her in death.She received her education in the Eureka, Santaquin and Provo City schools. She was an active member of the LDS Church and served in various callings. Mary and her husband, Karl, were dam keepers at Deer Creek for 19 years. They had also been keepers at the Wanship, Stanaker and Joe's Valley Dams. She had many hobbies including needlework, handicrafts and working in the yard. She had been active in the senior citizens in American Fork and Layton.

She is survived by her daughter, Mrs. Roy (Barbara Pratt) Christiansen, Layton; 15 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; one brother and two sisters, Wesley Carter, Deon Smith, both of Provo; Angela Cameron, Orem. Preceded in death by two sons, Karl LeRoy Pratt, Jr., Sherman "Sherm" J. Pratt, and a granddaughter, Mary Sharon Pratt. She was also preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.

Funeral services will be held Friday, August 9, 1991, 11 a.m., at the American Fork 16th LDS Ward Chapel, 350 West 165 North, in American Fork. Friends may call at the Berg Mortuary of Provo, 185 East Center, on Thursday evening, 6-8 p.m. or at ward chapel Friday, one hour prior to services. Interment: Provo City Cemetery.
