Albert F. Pitney, 91, of Taylorsville, died at 6:45 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 20, 2010, at Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Taylorsville First Baptist Church with the Rev. Tom Collett officiating. Calling will be from 10 a.m. until service time Wednesday at the church. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh.
Arrangements were made by Long Funeral Home in Edinburgh.
Mr. Pitney is survived by sons, Chester Pitney of Columbus and Wayne Pitney of Stoughton, Wis.; a stepson, Tim Jarnagin of Columbus; daughters, Barbara Childers of Columbus, Janice Giles of Edinburgh and Martha Kohr of Lizton; stepsisters, Edell Shockley and Birdie Cassidy, both of Edinburgh; 12 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Norma Jean Chandler Pitney; and a daughter, Katherine Rooks.

Albert F. Pitney, 91, died Saturday, Nov. 20, 2010, at Hospice of South Central Indiana in Columbus. He was a resident of Columbus.
Survivors include two sons, Chester Pitney of Columbus and Wayne Pitney of Stoughton, Wis.; three daughters, Barbara Childers of Columbus, Janice Giles of Edinburgh and Martha Kohr of Lizton; and two stepsisters, Edell Shockley and Birdie Cassidy, both of Edinburgh.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John Jay and Maggie (Rogers) Pitney; his wife, Norma Jean (Chandler) Pitney; a brother, Edward Pitney; two stepbrothers, Lloyd T. and Clyde Johnson; a sister, Iva Long; and a daughter, Katherine Rooks.
The Rev. Tom Collett will conduct a funeral service at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Taylorsville First Baptist Church, 9118 Main St., Taylorsville. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time Wednesday at the church. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh.
Long Funeral Home in Edinburgh is handling arrangements.
