WELLSTON -- Lewis M. Powers, 87, passed away at his home at Glenroy Friday at 7:30 p.m. He had been a resident of that community many years.
Mr. Powers was born in Jackson County, Jan. 2, 1866. He located in the Glenroy neighborhood when 21 years of age. About 2 1/2 years ago he moved to Blanchester and returned to Glenroy only five weeks ago. He was the last of his father's family.
The wife, Mrs. Martha Alice Dulaney Powers, died Aug. 21, 1941.
Surviving are two sons, Clyde E., Akron, Melvin, Wellston; three daughters, Mrs. Edna France, Blanchester, Mrs. Elsie Souders, Baltimore, and Mrs. Opal Elkins, Springfield.
Funeral services will be held Sunday at 1 p.m. at Anderson Funeral Home with burial in Coalton Cemetery. The body may be viewed at the funeral home after 5 p.m. today.
