Berea Farmer is Death Victim
Eli Alexander Yates, well known farmer of the Berea community, died at his home Monday after an illness of three years, he was 68.
Native of Alabama, Yates had made his home for many years at Berea where he was active in church & community affairs. He was a member of Liberty Chapel church.
Funeral services were held at Stonewall Sunday at 3 pm with Rev. West of Ethel officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery under the direction of Lee Funeral Home.
Besides his wife, Mrs. Eli Yates, he leaves 3 daughters, Mrs. Bessie Wheller & Ruth Brantley, McCool; Mrs Wardine Bennett, Holcomb; 2 sons, Kelly Yates, Kosciusko & Sgt. Marvin Yates, Scott Field ILL; 4 sisters, Mrs. Lizzie Jennings, Mrs. Icey Yeager, Mrs. Jennie Vinson & Mrs. Delia Rhines; 1 brother, John Yates, Vaiden.
