Robert D. Allen

On a little farm in Loxley Alabama on October 22 1938 great joy came to Harvey and Minnie Allen, a son, Robert. Around the end of the war they bought a farm North of Foley, producing row crops, eggs, cattle and love...It was a hard but good life. Around that time Robert Happened to see a little girl dancing with her father on his toes, Chickie Lucassen. Later in high school they started dating, fell in love and married. Soon moving to Pensacola over Mobile because of the dime tunnel toll. Robert had various jobs over time/lastly Gayfers at Town and Country and retiring from the Escambia County School Board- teaching at George Stone and various (Bump Institutions). He loved and cared for most of his students, Bump or not. Life was good, after much hard work and long hours Rob and Joanne could finally start taking it easy, have a vacation then suddenly out of the blue Chick passed away-she worked at Holsberry and Emmauel at the time. Nothing was ever the same, no one ever to replace Chick and Bob remained single for the rest of his life. Bob was a good shot and enjoyed a good dove shoot and fishing. Dad taught us many things...how to save and not squander to donate blood, clean your plate and to respect people and whether it went up or down should depend on them and to love God.

Bob leaves behind two kids- Bobby and Kathy, two granddaughters and five great grandchildren who will miss him everyday but take comfort knowing your soul is with the Good Lord and mom. Till we meet again we will miss you Dad, love you.
