Mrs. J.L. Horn
Mrs. J.L. Horn, who makes her home with her sons, J.E. and A.L. Horn, 11 miles northeast of Carnegie, died suddenly of neuralgia of the heart Tuesday of last week. funeral services were conducted by Rev. E.E. Monk at the Baptist church in Alfalfa Tuesday afternoon at 4 o'clock and interment was made in the Alfalfa cemetery.
Rachel Harriett Yates was born in Lee county, Miss., May 20, 1849, died September 17, 1918, aged 69 years, 3 months and 29 days. She was married to H.L. Horn in 1866. Mr. Horn was a Civil War veteran. To this union nine children were born, eight boys and one girl, all of whom are living; Mrs. J.E. Watts and E.J. Horn of Mississippi; R.J. Horn of Dawson, N.M.; C.L. Horn of Louisiana; H.L. and A.J. Horn of Vera, Tex.; and the two sons here. Her husband died two year ago last February.
Mrs. Horn united with the Primitive Baptist church when in her teens. She was always a regular attendant at church until she became too feeble.
