Anna H Crowdus was the oldest daughter of Dr. J W Crowdus, one time mayor of Dallas and his wife Miss Frances E Bell Hammond, both born in Kentucky. She was born in Robinson County, Tennessee in ca July 1851. She came to Texas with her family after the Civil War. She was married to James Harvey Henry born in Illinois but lived and worked in Texss and gave birth to at least three known children. She married a second time after the death of her first husband in 1897 to a Mr. Menefee. She survived both of her husbands. She died in the Del Prado Hotel in Chicago after a two month visit. She died of kidney disease.

Dallas Morning News: 16 September 1907:

Mrs Anna Crowdus Menefeee died in Chicago last week. Furneral wll take place at the home of John T Berry's residence in Dallas at 293 Junius Street. Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery. She is survived by a son, J. W. Henry, and a daugther Mrs. De Woody.

Note: She had another son also: Harvey Eugene Henry who lived until 1939.
