HOWLAND – Queenie M. "Gumm" Boles, 90, wife of the late Sherwin Boles, went home to be with the Lord, April 12, 2011, at a Bangor hospital. She was born May 2, 1920, in Davidson, daughter of William and Daisy (Jones) Estabrook.
Queenie was a hard worker, working at a shoe shop for many years. She was a member of Howland Baptist Church. Queenie will be missed by her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who were a great joy to her, and her many, many friends.
She is survived by a son, Bobby and Earlene Boles of McCalla, Ala.; three daughters, Judy Huston of Alton, Carole and Bob Foley, and Brenda and Joel Jipson, all of Howland; a sister, Faye Ireland of Enfield; and nine grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Sherwin; and siblings, Sadie, Floyd, Shirley, Claude, Bill, Claire and Truman.
Friends may call noon-2 p.m. Thursday, April 14, at Clay Funeral Home, 7 Lee Road, Lincoln, where funeral services will be held 2 p.m. with the Rev. Alan Porter officiating. Interment will be at West Enfield Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Howland Baptist Church or River of Life Bible Camp, Maxfield. Donations may be left at the funeral home.
