Florence "Aunt Polly" Wood Clegg Stacy was born Dec. 1, 1913, at Wadley, Ala., and later grew up at Wedowee, Ala.

Her parents were Ruth Wood Clegg and Charles W. Clegg. She was preceded in death by her husband, Warren Curtis Stacy; her parents; her brothers and their wives, C.B. Clegg (Angie), George M. Clegg (Edith), and Frank Clegg (Kay); sisters, Ruth Clegg, and Ruby Clegg Ruffin (husband, Bob); niece, Margaret Ruffin; and nephews, Frankie Clegg, Bill Clegg, Robert Ruffin Jr. and James Morgan Clegg.

She is survived by her sister, Aurine Clegg Barber and her husband, Duane Barber; nieces and nephews and spouses, Charles Barber (Marion), William Barber, Nancy Barber DeMonbrun (Tom), Anne Folsum (Dennis), Joy Ruffin, Wanda Clegg, Kelley Neal (Don), Mitchie Neel (Les), Karen Paules (Carl), Mary Irby and Emilu Gray; and numerous great- and great-great-nieces and nephews, including Mariah, Zach and Jake Barber, Emily and Alison DeMonbrun, Mary Elizabeth Neal, and others. Also many other special friends.

She taught school for many years in Alabama and Florida. The family wishes to thank the staff, nurses and doctors at Emerald Coast Nursing Home, Magnolia Medical Center, and Fort Walton Beach Hospital for their special care of Florence.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at First United Methodist Church of Fort Walton Beach on Wednesday, April 13, at 10 a.m., with visitation beginning at 9 a.m.
Memorial donations may be made to the church or charity of your choice, if desired.
