Inez Devenport, 88, passed away Sunday, April 10, 2011. Funeral: 1:30 p.m. Thursday in Mount Olivet Chapel. Interment: Mount Olivet Cemetery. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Mount Olivet Funeral Home.
Inez was born March 19, 1923, in Eastland County to Julia and James Harvey Maxwell. She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, A.L. Devenport; son, Claud Ray Devenport; son-in-law, Glenn Carter; two sisters; and five brothers. Survivors: Daughters, Joreta Carter of Jacksonville, Fla., Geneva Buchanan and husband, Curtis, of Graham and Kharvina Gilmore and husband, Billy, of Fort Worth; daughter-in-law, Judy Devenport of Dennison; brothers, Harrell Maxwell and wife, Pat, of Borger, Lee Roy Maxwell of Eastland and Glenn Maxwell and wife, Norma of Moscow, Kan.; 11 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
