Alexander attended Gonzaga University and held a degree in pharmacy from Washington State University. He worked as a pharmacist.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Mark; three daughters, Christie Heinonen of Portland, Mary Gould of Anchorage and Julie Alexander of Eugene ; six grandchildren.
