Robert Baker of 2001 3rd Ave., died at 11:50 p.m. yesterday in Mercy Hospital where he was admitted Tuesday. He was born in Hollidaysburg June 6, 1901, a son of Robert L. and Eleanor (Hershberger) Baker, and married Dorothy Garland.
Surviving are his wife, two daughters, Mrs. Anna Walls of Hollidaysburg and Mrs. Violet Gonsman of Newry; three grandchildren, one greatchild; five sisters and two brothers, Mrs. Sarah Wingard and Mrs. Clay Metzler of Duncansville, Mrs. Helen Foor, Mrs. Goldie Blyler and Chester of Altoona, Mrs. Violet Deltlise in New Jersey and Kelley of Roaring Spting; his step-mother, Mrs. Grace Baker of Hollidaysburg; three step-sisters and two step-brothers.
He was of the Methodist faith, was employed as a fireman on the Middle Division, P.R.R. and known to his friends as Chick.
Friends will be received at the Plank Funeral Hohme, Hollidaysburg after 7 p.m. tomorrow.
