Lela, 92, Coldwater, died at Celina Manor.
She was the daughter to Ray and Barbara "Retta" (Brock) Hoenie. She married twice and survived both husbands. In 1939, she married John McMillan, and in 1981, she marrried William Eken.
Surviving are two sons: Tom (Sharon), Coldwater, and Larry (Judy), Walworth, NY; a daughter, Gayle (William) Davis, Oceanside, CA; a sister-in-law, Evelyn McMillan, Portland, IN; seven grandchildren: Kimberly Miller, Melinda Martin, Nancy Hoying, Thomas McMillan, John McMillan, Susan Rexroat, Daniel McMillan; and seventeen great-grandchildren.
Deceased are a daughter, Gwen (Owen) Ashbaugh; a brother, Edwin Hoenie; two brothers-in-law: Donald McMillan and Everett Maffet; two sisters-in-law: Mary Ellen Maffet and Jeanette Burger; and close friend, Vernon Shultz.
She is a graduate of Celina High School, Celina. She was previously employed at Reynolds, Celina, the former F&J Farm Service, Coldwater, and helped on the family farm. She is a member of the Coldwater United Methodist Church, Coldwater, and loved to crochet and was a wonderful quilter.
Services are at Coldwater United Methodist Church, Coldwater, with the Rev. Allan Brown officiating.
