William Andrews "Bill" Hall passed away at age 92 in Tallahassee, Florida on Friday, April 8, 2011.

Bill was born in Orlando, Florida on June 30, 1918 to William Leighton and Erna Virginia Austin Hall. He was predeceased by his wife of 57 years, Frances Newton Hall.

Bill proudly served in the United States Army, 461st Air Service Squadron during World War II. He was an aircraft, engineering technician, performing duties in Normandy, North France, Rhineland and Central Europe. He faithfully attended annual reunions of his squadron and regularly sported a patriotic shirt, jacket or hat to declare the pride he had for his country. He was a member of Ernest Westbrook Post 41 of Eustis, Florida of the American Legion and Masons.

Eustis, Florida is where Bill and Frances raised their family and established Hall's Nursery and Landscape, Inc. Located at 930 South Bay Street, the nursery was a place where family, friends and neighbors not only purchased plants, but stopped by for expert horticultural advice and good ol' fashioned southern hospitality. Bill retired from and sold the family business in 1998.

Shortly thereafter he moved to a rustic cabin on the Lazy J Ranch in Monticello, Florida. He attended the First United Methodist Church of Monticello.

Bill is survived by his daughter, Margaret Calhoun of Monticello Florida; daughter and son-in-law Andie and Dean Jerger of Monticello, Florida; daughter and son-in-law Mim and Ted Gottfried of Eustis, Florida. He is also survived by his four grandchildren, Karen Calhoun Kasjaniuk (Greg), William Adam Jerger (Lori), William Charles Calhoun (Johanna) and David Scott Miller (Diana) and great grand children Ruthie, Rusty, Flip and Ellie Jerger.

A celebration of Bill's life will be held at Hamlin and Hilbish Funeral Home in Eustis, Florida on Wednesday, April 13, 2011 at 11 o'clock. The family will receive friends beginning at 10 AM. Interment will follow in Lakeside Memory Gardens, Eustis.
