Mary Edna Barnes, 62, died Saturday, September 28, 1996, at her home following a sudden illness. She was a L. P. N. at the Tishomingo Hospital with 25 years of service. She was a founding member of the Emergency Medical Technician Association (EMT) of Mississippi where she was currently serving as state secretary/treasurer of the association. She was also a CPR Instructor.
Services were at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Salt's Funeral Home Chapel with Minister John Williams officiating. Burial was in the New Bethel Cemetery.
Survivors include her husband of 42 years, Eugene Barnes of Booneville; one daughter Sherry Barnes of Memphis; her mother, Lucille Burress of Oklahoma City, OK; one sister, Ruth Lentz of Kingston, TN.; three brothers, Donald Burress of San Bernardino, CA.; James Burress of Jai, N. M., and Bobby Burress of Oklahoma City, OK.
She was preceded in death by a son, Ricky Dell Barnes.
