Professional Football Player, US Congressman. A native of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, he graduated from Marquette University there where he was named an All-American football player. He played professional football for the Milwaukee Badgers, until they folded. He then went on to play as a tight end for the Green Bay Packers, and had a football career that lasted from 1926 to 1934, was part of the Packers' Championships in 1929, 1930 and 1931. During his playing days he graduated from the Marquette School of Law, and entered the Wisconsin Bar Association in 1927. When he retired from professional football he went on to have a successful career as an attorney. In 1942 he was elected as a Democrat to represent Wisconsin's 8th Congressional District in the United States House of Representatives, and served a single term from 1943 to 1945. In 1961 he was appointed by President John F. Kennedy to serve on the Foreign Claims Settlement Commission.
