Maynard "Ben" Cotten of Yuma, Ariz., died March 29 of a heart-related condition at 88. No service is planned.

He was born Aug. 10, 1922, in Crawford, Colo., to Ben and Iva Jackson Cotten. He married Mildred Grace Rutherford on Sept. 7, 1945, in San Diego. She died Jan. 16, 2002.

He served in the Navy and worked at the Eugene Water and Electric Board.

Survivors include a son, Martin of Salem; a sister, Lillie Johnson of Eugene; two brothers, Earl of Indianapolis and Norman of Eugene; and two grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
