John Ritchie Arnott was the son of George White Arnott and Agnes Ritchie Arnott. Came to Huron County, Michigan from Ontario, Canada as a youngster in 1865. Was married to Alice Jane Miles in 1881. They were the parents of five children born in Michigan: George E., James A., Ernest, Agnes, Alger John, and three born in Cloquet, Minnesota: Woodis, Grace Evelyn (McBride) and Alice Ella "Pat" (Giese). Returned to Canada and lived in Alberta until 1926, returning to the USA in 1926. John's brother James was my great grandfather.
