Gladys grew up in the Baxter Springs, KS area and graduated from the Baxter Springs High School. Following this she atteneed college in Pittsburgh, KS where she met and later married Harvey Kreiss. For a number of years both Gladys and Harvey taught children in the Baxter Springs Schools. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church in Baxter Springs, KS.
About 1940 they moved to Kansas City where Harvey went to work for the U.S. Postal Service and Gladys was a homemaker. Harvey retired from his work in 1966 and they moved to the Osceola area and purchased a small county place just east of the Damascus area. They made this their home until Harvey's death on March 8, 1974. Gladys was very kind, loving, giving person and will be sadly missed by all who know her.
She is survived by serveal cousins.
Funeral services where held on Oct. 28, at 2 p.m. under the direction of Sheldon-Goodrich Chapel with Rev. Jim Quist officiating.
Music was furnished by Richard Sunderwirth, Soloist and Mary Lu Hildebrand, Pianist.
Casketbearers were Tracy Fletcher, Charles Sheldon, John Jurgensmeyer, Jim Naylor, Charles Kincaid and Charles Dean with interment at Resthaven Memorial Gradens in Osceola.
