The deceased was a veteran of the Mexican war and a pioneer here, having come here in the latter fifties. He was past four score years of age. He served with the territorial volunteers during the Indian wars and was one of the prominent pioneers. He has a large farm on Rocky prairie and also large realty interest in this city and other parts of the county.
He is survived by his widow and three children, Mrs. Kate Whitemarsh and Miss Bell Whitaker of this city and Thomas Whitaker, an engineer at Bordeaux.
