Minix G. Osborne, age 81, died Thursday, December 30, 2004 at Smyth County Community Hospital. He was a veteran of World War II having served in the United States Army and was a 32nd degree Mason and member of the Eastern Star, Chapter #72. He was retired from the United States Postal Service after 33 years of service and was a farmer. Mr. Osborne was a full time Southern Democrat and preached on the radio on Full-Vessel Broadcast, preaching, teaching, and prayer. He was preceded in death by his wife, Gloria Kate Shuler Osborne, a son, Minix Dale Osborne, three brothers, Calt, Deitrick, and Jessie, and three sisters, Ella Fae, Lula Mae, and Estella. He is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Anna and Donnie Lyles of Marion, Virginia. Two sons and daughters-in-law, Clement and Regina Osborne and Joseph and Sherry Osborne all of Chilhowie, Virginia. Five sisters, Marcella Kilby of Salem, Virginia; Nell Pasley of Ashe County, North Carolina; Masie Foore of Chilhowie, Virginia; Shirley Pruitt of Lancaster, Pennsylvania; and Jackie Brooks of Wilmington, North Carolina. Two brothers, Courtney Osborne, Jr. of Lancaster, Pennsylvania, and James F. Osborne of Chilhowie, Virginia. Six grandchildren, Abigail Louise Lyles, Leanna Nichole Lyles, Joshua Dale Osborne, Carolina Virginia Osborne, Ruby Rose Osborne, and Cicero Lee Osborne.

Funeral Services will be held at Seaver-Brown Chapel with Mr. Larry Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Round Hill Cemetery, Marion, Virginia, where Masonic Rites will be conducted by Marion Masonic Lodge #31 A.F. & A.M. and military rites will be conducted by Frances Marion V.F.W. Post #4667.
