From IL Genealogy Trails:

DAVID GREEN PROCTOR, son of George R. and Mary G. [Green] Proctor, was born in Lawrence county, Ind., July 23, 1840, died at his home in Coleta, Nov. 23, 1921. At the time of his death he was 81 years and four months old.

When 15 years of age he moved with his parents to Whiteside county, Illinois, and with the exception of a brief period spent in Carroll county, he has made his home near Coleta. Of this time 40 years were spent on one farm in Genesee Township. He then retired to Coleta where he has since made his home.

On Dec. 17, 1865, he was united in marriage to Sarah A. Hurless, to which union seven children were born, two preceding him in death, Ira R. and an infant son. The five living are: Cephas E., Alexandria, S. D.; George R., Nampa, Idaho; Mrs. Minnie Spang, Grand View, Idaho; Richard G., Sterling, Ill., and Elizabeth, at home. Besides the devoted wife and children he leaves to mourn his going sixteen grandchildren, two great grandchildren and four sisters: Mrs. L. S. Crouch, Lapwai, Idaho; Mrs. William Brewer, Shenandoah, Ia.; Mrs. C. H. Manning, Coleta, besides a wide circle of friends and neighbors.

About 46 years ago under the preaching of Ira J. Chase, evangelist, he confessed his faith in Christ and united with the Coleta Christian church. While not demonstrative, we hope he has heard the "well done" of the Master. We have met to do him honor and cherish his memory as a good citizen, sturdy and industrious, honorable and upright in his dealings, a good neighbor, friend, husband and father. The funeral service was conducted at the late home. C. W. Marlow, a friend of the deceased and a former pastor of the Christian church, preached the sermon. Rev. C. C. Hoffman assisted. Mrs. Rae[?] Kreider of Sterling rendered excellent service in song. A large number of friends and neighbors attested sympathy by their presence. Burial with appropriate service at Bethel cemetery.

Suggested edit: David married Sarah Ann Hurless 17 Dec 1865 in Whiteside Co IL. She was b. 11 Apr 1849 Ohio and d. 25 Aug 1939, is buried in Bethel Cemetery, Carroll Co. according to her IL death record.
