Roselee Rhody Kyzar
Funeral services were held at First Baptist Church in Columbia Nov. 220 for Roselee Rhody Kyzar, 95, of Columbia, who died Nov. 17 at the Myrtles.
Doctors Wayne VanHorn and Howard Aultman of First Baptist Church officiated with interment at the Columbia City Cemetery.
Pallbearers included Scott Morgan, Reese Kyzar, Richie Kyzar, Cletus Morgan, Daniel Pittman and Robert Easterly. Honorary pallbearers were Tommy Fore and Carl Rhody.
Mrs. Kyzar came to Columbia at age 21 from her hometown of Amite, La. She was the secretary of her class at First Baptist Church from 1963-1993. She was late president of the WWI Ladies Auxiliary State Department for two years and was secretary for 14 years. From 1952 to 1989, she was the secretary for the American Legion Auxiliary Horatio Rankin Post and was president for one year. From 1972-1989, she was secretary of the Jonas Herring Auxiliary. She was a Gold Star Mother and for many years was asked to place a wreath on the courtyard tomb at the War Memorial Building in Jackson at the Veterans Day observance.
She was precede in death by her husband, Robet W. Kyzar; three sons, Reese, Charles and Raymond "Tink" Kyzar; and 13 brothers and sisters.
She is survived by five grandchildren, Tim Kyzar of Columbia, Tinkie Watson and Tammy Webb of Gautier, Lynell Lewis of Stanwood, Wash., and Laurie Hansen of Kirkland, Wash.; 13 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
