F. L. Stevenson was born in Calvert, TX on February 22, 1938 to Eddie and Melvina Stevenson. He was the youngest of seven children, all of whom preceded him in death. F. L. attended Woodson High School in Abilene, TX. He served in the United States Air Force for 20 years. During this time he served two tours in Vietnam. He met and married Sandra Neal on February 26, 1971. He returned to Abilene in 1981 and began working for the city of Abilene. He was baptized into the Christian Faith at Holiday Hills Baptist Church in 1994. He retired from the City of Abilene in 1998.
He leaves to mourn and cherish his memory, His wife, Sandra Stevenson; two daughters, Stephanie Stevenson-Erazo of Abilene, TX, Sharon Fragoso and husband Manuel of Harlingen, TX; Four sons, Kevin Stevenson and wife Ashley of Waco, TX, Ricky Stevenson and wife Sabrina of Abilene, Joe Stevenson of Abilene, Douglas Tyler and wife Gwen of Portland, OR. F.L. had a multitude of Grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews, including two grandchildren who were like his sons, Jordan Stevenson and Ricky Stevenson Jr. of Abilene, TX.
