OBITUARY:
Charles Peabody
Dies in Portville;
Rites on Saturday

Charles H. Peabody, of Ponville [Portville].
died yesterday morning after a long
illness.
He was born at Ceres April 16,
1875, and had lived in the Ceres-
Portville area all his life. He
employed 25 years by the Tide
Water Oil Company and was later
employed by the Forest Oil Company.
He retired eight years ago.
Mr. Peabody is survived by four
children, Clyde Peabody and Mrs.
Wilma Doyle, Olean; Lyle Peabody,
Haskell Road, and Sgt. Raymond
Peabody, U. S. Army in Tokyo: two
sisters, Mrs. Winnie Windsor, Bradford,
and Mrs. John Walters, Mt.
Alton; and one brother, Percival
Peabody, Bradford.
Funeral services will be held Saturday
at 2 pm. in Portville. The
Rev. L. M. Casler, pastor of the
Obi Evangelical United Brethren
Church, will officiate. Burial will be
made in McKean Memorial Park.
