Mary A. Nowacki, 67, of Lance Drive, South Bend, Ind. died at 8:25 p.m. on Tuesday, April 6, in her home.
She was born on Nov. 11, 1931, in South Bend, and lived in this area all of her life.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Michael and Agnes (Olszewski) Manijak; three brothers, Thomas, Walter and Harry Manijak; and by two sisters, Sophie Kasznia and Phyllis Ellis.
On Oct. 3, 1953, in South Bend, as Mary Manijak, she married Henry Nowacki, who also preceded her in death on July 8, 1987.
She retired in 1994 from the St. Joseph County Treasurers Office.
She is survived by a daughter, Susan (Frank) Hadary of South Bend; a son, Randy (Susan) Nowacki of South Bend; three grandchildren, Dennis Nowacki, Lisa Hadary and Danny Hadary, all of South Bend; a sister, Bernice Niezgodski of South Bend; and by a brother, Frank Manijak of South Bend. Family and friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. today in the St. Joseph Funeral Home, 824 S. Mayflower Road, where a Rosary will be said at 4 p.m.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday in St. Stanislaus Catholic Church where she was a member.
Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Stanislaus Catholic Church building fund, 415 N. Brookfield Street, South Bend, IN 46628.
