GUYTON- Mrs. Janice "Jan" Odom Womble, 61, went to be with her Lord, December 8, 2006. Janice was a native of Evans County, but lived in Guyton for several years. She was medical Transcriptionist and a member of Faith Baptist Church, where she was active in the church choir, lady's group, Young at Heart Sunday School class and BYKOTA. She was preceded in death by her father, Herman Hugh Odom; mother, Maudene Blalock Odom and a brother, Herman Jerrell Odom. Survivors include her husband, Dan Womble of Guyton; a daughter, Valerie Leigh Womble of Jacksonville, Fla.; one sister, Betty Jean Reed of Jonesboro; sister-in-law, Betty Odom of Rincon; nephews, Todd Steven Odom, Scott Lane Odom and Ian Robert Odom; great nieces, Alexis Nicole Odom and Erica Haley Odom; and a number of cousins. Homegoing services were held 3 p.m., Dec. 10 at Faith Baptist Church, with Dr. Calvin Bradley and Dr. John Tramell officiating.
Pallbearers were John Tramell, Sr., Adger Dean Kirby, Norman Anthony Zipperer, Jesse Payton, Richard John Bush and Reuben Jenkins. Honorary Pallbearers were Wade Coursey, Jack Butler, Robert Harpe, Sr., Ronnie Holton, Willard Sikes and Calvin Page. Burial was held at Effingham Memorial Gardens.
