7-year old Girl Dies of Diphtheria
Mary Elizabeth, 7 year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Hendrick, residing on the Collmorgen farm 4 miles north of the city on the Lufkin-Nacogdoches highway, died this morning at 2 o'clock after a severe attack of diptheria, and the remains were conveyed this morning to Shelby County, where they were interred in what is termed the New Prospect Cemetery.
The little one had been quite ill for several days with this dread malady and her recovery dispaired of by the attending physician on yesterday. In addition to her parents, little Mary is survived by 2 brothers and a sister.
