Coral was the son of James Richmond & Eliza Corilla (King) Pearson. His siblings were: Richard, James Edwin, Dora M. & Mary A. His half-sisters from his father's first marriage was Sarah E C "Clabie."

He married Ida Hughes in Newtonia on January 22, 1893. Their children were Richard, Leo, & Hugh.

Coral died from in Neosho at 1:10 a.m. from a stroke "Apoplexy." He had lived 65 years, 2 months, & 11 days. His wife, Ida, was the informant on his death certificate. He was buried on Oct. 14.

Coral C. Pearson, 65 years old, a life-long citizen of Newton county, died at his home at 210 Hamilton street at 1:10 Friday afternoon after a long illness. He had seemed better than usual for a short time preceding his death, and had even expressed a desire to attend prayer meeting Wednesday evening. A second stroke of paralysis came that night and his condition gradually grew worse from then on until the end.

Mr. Pearson was born in Newtonia, a member of a highly respected pioneer family. He was reared thee and continued to reside there after his marriage to a Newtonia girl. Three sons, Richard, Hugh and Leo, were born to the couple, and these with the wife, survive.

The family moved to Neosho some years ago and the boys were educated in the Neosho schools. Richard and Leo reside in Kansas City, and Hugh is with his mother in the home.

Mr. Pearson was a member of the First Baptist church of this city. He was a man of upright principles and was held in high esteem in the community.

Funeral services were conducted by the Rev. Billy Bain, pastor of the First Baptist church, at 2:30 Sunday afternoon, and burial was made in the I.O.O.F. cemetery of Newtonia."
