Duellman, Mary (10 Dec. 1880 – 23 Dec. 1937)

Funeral services were conducted for Mrs. Henry Duellman, Monday morning at 9:30 at St. Bernard's Catholic church. The Rev. Fr. C. D. Brady officiated. Internment was made at the Colby cemetery.*

Pallbearers were Robert Gierl, Peter Grief, Frank Sterzinger, John Keifer, Francis Wiese, H. Vandehey.

Mrs. Henry Duellman was born Dec. 10, 1880, in St. Lawrence, Wis. She lived there until 1904 when she was married to Henry Duellman of Fountain City. To them were born ten children, nine living, one having died in infancy. The young couple lived on a farm out of Fountain City for two years, then moved to another farm near Marshfield where they lived for about seven years. They next moved to their farm near Colby and lived there for 22 years from which they retired and came to Abbotsford where Mr. Dallman and his sons operate a tavern.

Mrs. Duellman had been in good health until about three months ago. She underwent an operation for gall bladder at St. Joseph's hospital in Marshfield where she died Dec. 23rd as a result of complications.

She is survived by her husband, Henry Duellman; four daughters, Mrs. Ernest Gierl, Colby; Mrs. Oscar Seidel, Abbotsford; Mrs. Leonard Beissel, Bessemer, Mich.; Miss Dorothy Duellman, Abbotsford; five sons: Armand, Abbotsford; Mathew, Frank, Edward and Paul at home; and nine grandchildren.

Five sisters: Mrs. Wm. Piel, Mrs. Herman Glass, Mrs. Ray Rifenburg, all of Milwaukee; Mrs. John Brill of Cherokee; Mrs. Henry Bauer, Fountain City; and one brother, Math Thorn of Winona, Minn., also survive.

Out of town relatives who attended the funeral were: Mrs. Wm. Piel, Mrs. Herman Glass, Mrs. Ray Riffenberg, Miss Stella Thorn of Milwaukee; Mrs. Henry Bauers, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Duellman, John Duellman, daughter Dolores, and son Emil, Fred Stettler, Mrs. Anton Duellman and daughter Tillie; Daniel Piel, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Duellman, all of Fountain City.

Mr. and Mrs. John Brill of Cherokee; Mr. and Mrs. Mike Redig, Mr. and Mrs. Math Thorn and son, Herman, Mr. and Mrs. Norman Thorn of Winona, Minn.; Math Redig of Rochester, Minn.

Relatives from Marshfield were Mr. and Mrs. Matt Thorn Sr., Mr. and Mrs. Mike Weber, Mr. and Mrs. J. Redig, Mrs. Philip Weber and Mrs. Marie Westley.

Other relatives were: Mr. and Mrs. Kaiser and son, Stratford; Henry Bauers and daughter, Thorp; Mr. and Mrs. John Elsinger, H. Weier and daughter of Loyal.
