WILLIAM W. HEINING

William W. Heining, 67, mayor of Garrett, died Monday, July 30, 1973, at his home. Born July 6, 1906, in Rockwood, he was a son of John and Charlotte (Bittner) Heining. Surviving are his wife, the former Florence Albright, and the following children: Mrs. Ray (Patricia) Gross, Williamstown, N.J.; William H. Heining, Berlin; Mrs. Robert (Janette Louise) Calhoun, Turbotville; John W. Heining of Somerset; Mrs. Pansy Deeter, Garrett; nine grandchildren; also a brother, August of Somerset; and two sisters, Mrs. Mary Gray and Mrs. Nora Sweeney, both of Garrett. He had been mayor of Garrett for the past 28 years and was a member of Center Lutheran Church of Garrett, Loyal Order of Moose, Meyersdale; Garrett Chamber of Commerce and the Volunteer Fire Department of Garrett. Funeral service was held Wednesday afternoon in Johnson and Son Funeral Home, Berlin, with Rev. William F. Phennicie officiating. Interment in Highland Cemetery, Garrett.
