Kenneth A.C. Richison, 93, passed away on April 3, 2011, after a courageous two-year battle with cancer. He was born September 27, 1917 in Stigler, Oklahoma, to Columbus Edward and Nettie Lee Richison. He was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Harriet Marguerite Richison. He is survived by his daughter, Edwina Marguerite Gardner (Rex), Nashville, TN; grandchildren: Lynne Rexanne Okat (Ekin), Vallejo, CA; and Christopher Edward Gardner (Teresa), Nashville, TN; great-granddaughters: Ashley Lynne Teixeira, Madelyn Faith Gardner, Gabriella Grace Gardner, all of Nashville, TN; several nieces and nephews; and special friend, Jonnie Cotton. Mr. Richison graduated from Stigler High School. He served in the US Air Force 9th Air Division on the front lines in the Rhineland of Central Europe during WWII, where he earned several awards including the WWII Victory ribbon, good conduct medal, and two bronze service stars. He then completed 32 years of service with the Federal Government including the Dept. of Indian Health, Southwestern Power Administration, the Army Corps of Engineers, and retired from the Federal Aviation Agency Aeronautical Center in Oklahoma City. Mr. Richison led an exemplary life of helping and inspiring everyone with whom he came into contact. He always had a positive outlook and a kind word, or a tease to bring laughter. He was a loving, loyal family member and friend. He was a lifelong coin and stamp collector, as well as photographer. The family wishes to thank for all the love, affection and medical attention provided by City Hospice, personal caregivers, neighbors, family, and friends throughout his illness who made it possible for Mr. Richison to be at home, which was his wish. He truly loved all of you and greatly appreciated every caring deed and visit - God Bless You! Visitation will be Tuesday, April 5, from 4-7 p.m., at Hahn-Cook/Street & Draper Funeral Directors, 6600 Broadway Ext. Services will be Wednesday, April 6, at 10:30 a.m., in the Hahn-Cook/Street & Draper Chapel, with burial and full military honors following at Rose Hill Burial Park.
