Hazel "Jo" Montgomery, 93, Muscle Shoals, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 21, 2011, at Cypress Cove Nursing and Rehab.
Visitation will be noon-2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 23, 2011, at Spry Memorial Chapel. The funeral will follow at 2 p.m. in the chapel. Officiating at the service will be Brother Charlie James. Burial will be in Tharptown Cemetery.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Alvie Montgomery; parents, James and Nancy Warhurst; 10 brothers and sisters, Carrie Hall, Sue Fisher, Ruth Aycock, Edith Whitlock, Opal Daniel, Curtis, Dave, Jim, Charlie and Coleman Warhurst; and son-in-law, Kenneth Sockwell.
She is survived by her daughter, Mary Jo Sockwell; grandsons, Ken Sockwell (wife, Kristi), Mark Sockwell (wife, Kristie); great-grandchildren, Trey Sockwell, Caroline Sockwell; and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Charles Fisher, Jerry Aycock, Erick Boyd, Brian Lindsey, Dewayne Warhurst and Keith Rose. Honorary pallbearers will be Frank Seay, Owen Warhurst, Billy Aycock, Tommy Warhurst, Percy Daniel Jr. and Jacky Warhurst.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of Cypress Cove Nursing and Rehab Center and the staff of Hospice of North Alabama for the love and care.
She was a loving mother and grandmother and will be missed by all.
