Laura Belle Hill Mitchell was the daughter of Pinkney Brittle Hill and Mary Jane Mitchell Hill and the wife of George P. Mitchell In 1910 she was living with her mother and in 1920 in Kermit, Winkler County, Texas, with her husband and sons George and Alfred. In 1930 in Winkler County with husband George and sons George Alfred and Charlie Mitchell.
She was married, a ranchwife and a mother.
There were six children born to this marriage. Four sons, Alf, Charles, George, William John 'Bill' Mitchell and two daughters, Pauline Mitchell and Ethyl Faye Mitchell Brumlow. Pauline, who died at 19 months old, was buried on the original homestead ranch.
G.P. and Laura's Quein Sabe ranch holdings grew to include 20 sections of land in Winkler County, as well as additional land in the Wellsfleet, Nebraska area. This land still belongs to family.
Laura died at Kermit Memorial Hospital after falling and breaking four ribs on her left side.
