P.R. ‘Pat' McGee
MISSOULA - P.R. "Pat" McGee, 96, of Missoula, passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 6, 1998, at Evergreen Health Care Center. He was born on Jan. 25, 1902 in DeSoto, Mo. to Jeptha A. and Margaret Belle McGee, the last of 12 children. Pat had nine sisters and two brothers.The family moved to Missoula when Pat was 6 years old.
Pat started working for the Northern Pacific Railway in September 1916 in the car shops; he then worked as a fireman for several years and was promoted to engineer in 1942. He bowled on the Senior's League until he was 94, planted his last garden at the age of 95 and lived in his own home until February 1998.
On April 25, 1927 he married Lucille Kraft. They were married for 67 years when Lucille died in 1994. Pat had three sons and one daughter. Two sons, Harry and "Tiny," and two granddaughters preceded him in death.
