My GG grandmother.
She was 19 when she married William Sessums 6.8.1877 in Tarrant,TX.
Shows husband a widow in 1900 after 22 years of marriage, so she must have died in 1899.
Possibly died in childbirth?
This recollection of her Mother's death is detailed in a letter that Maude wrote to her neice, Inez Woodson New.
"Papa and Mama started out went up about Commerce, Tex on prairie to pick cotton so while up there Mam told Papa if he didn't get her home she would die on the way so he hitched up to wagon and started back for house and I don't know where, we had to camp out at night don't know where home was but we got to Grand Saline camped in wagon yard Mother got so bad Papa got the Dr. but Mother had convulsions until she died. The baby died too. So next morning Mother in coffin in wagon went to John Courtney's and then to Willow Springs for funeral. I was 5 years old but I remember it all as was yesterday. I believe Jake Courtney was Mother's half brother. We called him Uncle Jake.
