WILMINGTON -- Charles Henry Ahouse was born April 5, 1925 in St. Clare, Doddridge County, WV Son of Joseph Eugene Ahouse and Odelia Marie Staarman. His only brother, Eugene, gave his life in Okinawa in WWII. Charlie was in the Armed Guard and spent time on the USS Rotanin in the South Pacific during that same war. He spent most of his life in Cincinnati, OH working for Richter Transfer Company. He moved to Wilmington, NC in 1990 to be close to his children. He was predeceased by his wife Thelma Douglas Ahouse.

He has three children, Michael (Julie) Ahouse, Robert (Danielle) Ahouse, Regina (David) Plowden and seven grandchildren, Michael Ahouse, Susan (Collin) Berry, Owen Ahouse, Jennifer Ahouse, Corey Ahouse, Anne (James) Studdard, & Rene Plowden; Seven great-grandchildren, Roman, Carmen, Ayden, Savannah, Nicole, Isaiah, Joshua, Myanna.

A Graveside Service will be held on Wednesday, April 6, 2011 at Oleander Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 5, 2011 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Coble Ward-Smith, 3915 Oleander Drive, Wilmington, NC. The family wishes to express their appreciation to the East I staff at Davis Health Care and Lower Cape Fear Hospice for the tender, loving care provided.
