Lester John Brown, of Etowah, North Carolina died Thursday March 31, 2011, at the Elizabeth House in Flat Rock, North Carolina.
Lester was born on August 21, 1920, Haywood County, North Carolina to the late Floyd and Velma Holt Brown, he was also preceded by his wife Stella Hipps Brown. Mr. Brown retired from Ecusta and a U. S. Army Veteran where he received a Purple Heart at the Battle of the Bulge.
Survivors include three sons, one daughter of Etowah; two half-brothers; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Monday at Moody Connoly Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Pisgah Gardens with military honors.
The family will receive friends from 1 - 2 p. m. before service.
